A new spring for collaborative innovation

The world’s top leaders are this very moment convening at the World Economic Forum in Davos to discuss how to work together to solve urgent global challenges. The theme, “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”, is intended to promote international collaboration as the way forward to solve critical global challenges.

We in the Co:tunity team, that daily work with collaborative processes throughout the world, welcome the initiative. We see this as a clear sign that a new spring for collaborative innovation is coming. Fractured societies (and organizations) are abundant and an obstacle for progress and creativity. The way forward is, just like the WEF puts it, “co-design, co-creation and collaboration”.

From hype to productivity

Another indication that collaborative innovation is strengthening its position is that Gartner has reintroduced crowdsourcing in the hype cycle. In 2013 crowdsourcing debuted as an emergent technology, only to disappear the following year.* Now crowdsourcing is back as part of the hype cycle for the digital workplace and the company estimates that it will take less than two years until it reaches the plateau of productivity.

This view is in line with our own experiences from working actively with clients and partners around the globe. Interest is increasing and technologies and processes have matured. To help boost this development further, Kairos Future and the Co:tunity team will intensify its knowledge sharing activities as of 2018. The launch of this blog is one small part of this – stay tuned for more to come!
