DRAGON-STAR is funded by FP7, aiming to support the Chinese participation in Horizon 2020, the reciprocity originating from the signed EU-China Scientific Cooperation Agreement, the bilateral cooperation in scientific, technological and industrial research and innovation fields, and the ongoing EU - China Innovation Cooperation Dialogue.

A Foresight Exercise was initiated by Dragon Star using Co:tunity with an aim to reveal future development scenarios regarding the research environment in China. Emerging Technologies and a continous flow of new applications are rapidly changing the Chinese innovation landscape and causing impact on most industries. So, a dedicated group of students and new technology experts where asked to capture and share insights on new innovative technologies and applications in China. In a second phase we also initiated digital agents to search and find relevant tech trend news of significance to the Chinese landscape, throuch processing articles on blog and news sites. Particular area of interests where tech trends in areas such as transport, environment, urbanization, healt and solcial life. 

This Man + Machine crowdsourcing approach are utilized as a countinuos process where automatic news feeds is sourced on a daily basis to share and inspire knowledge also evolve the students own captures of tech trend spottings. Trained analysts rate and tag incoming spottings on a daily or weekly basis. Each analyst can copy and move posts from one business intelligence area to anther, and comment and add thoughts to both trend spottings and trend analysis. 

Out of the trendspottings gathered Dragon Star program committee analyse key trends and distribute this in report format for knowledge share and newsletter for external communication.
